Who we are
It all starts with a smile

82nd & University FSU

114th & Quaker FSU
High Wind Hospitality
The origins of High Wind Hospitality go all the way back to 2004 when Brad Norris started his Chick-fil-A® journey with Operator Jake Roye at the Franklin Avenue FSU location in Waco, Texas. Over the next 7 years Brad would grow in his knowledge and passion for Chick-fil-A® before joining the Interim Manager Program, while also attending the University of Mary Hardin Baylor. The next 2 years would see him travel and work in 5 different states, using the opportunity to define and refine his leadership skills in different environments and roles.

In 2013, Brad was selected to become the Operator for the Midland Park Mall location, where he continued to sharpen his pursuit of excellence, raise the standard of servant leadership, make connections with the people of Midland, Texas, and prepare for the next step in his Chick-fil-A journey. In 2014, Brad would marry his wife Ashley, a fellow UMHB graduate.
By 2016 Brad was ready to take it to the next level and was selected to open an FSU in Lubbock, Texas. In June of that year, he not only opened the 82nd & University location, but also welcomed his first son, Hudson, all in the same week! The next several years would see Brad and the High Wind team overcome the challenges of opening a new location in a competitive market while also preparing for the next evolution of the business. Brad’s growth driven mindset would see the High Wind team continue to grow as new talented and ambitious leaders were brought onto the team. 82nd & University would win the Symbol of Success Award in 2017, and again in 2019, a testament to High Wind’s passion to serve craveable food, provide memorable experiences, and to set a gold standard in restaurant leadership.

In 2019 High Wind Hospitality was interviewed and approved to expand their talent and ambition with a second location, opening the 114th & Quaker FSU in July 2020, all while again welcoming a new family member, Logan! Since then, Brad and High Wind Hospitality have continued to follow Truett’s principle of being
“good stewards” by providing opportunities for growth and remarkable experiences to our Guests and Team Members alike. In recognition for our dedication to kitchen cleanliness along with food safety and quality our team was awarded the distinction of Guardian of the Brand in 2025.
Brad and the High Wind Team continue to seek out opportunities to engage our communities and expand our ability to serve Lubbock and the Texas Panhandle and always find occasions to
win moments and win hearts.

"When I started my journey with
Chick-fil-A at 18, my goal was to be the Operator of two restaurants; now that I am older I realize that true success is the positive impact you can have on the lives of your families, team members, and community."
Brad Norris, Operator
